Weather: Pretty unexciting. A couple of little showers and temperatures
mostly in the 70s and 60s. We had one fan day early in the week, but that
was mostly because of the lack of wind and high humidity. It started warming
up yesterday in preparation of hot weather this coming week.
We started out the week with breakfast at the Lions Club with friends
of ours. They put on a better breakfast than we do at the 5th Maine.
Anyway, it a good way to start out the week. I did manage to get the new
shelves built in the back hall where we had to rearrange things for the
refrigerator. They are built, finished and already full of stuff.
Tuesday we went and picked up Pam and Christian at the airport in
Manchester, NH. That is 100 miles away (Mom would probably correct that to
99 miles). It is an easy trip as long as one doesn't get mixed up with
vacation traffic, which we did not on a Tuesday. Mom, Pam and Christian went
to the market on Wednesday after lunch. They were going earlier, but we had
to have the lunch that Dong brought us that his sister had prepared before he
left for the island. She had fixed egg rolls with a sauce and sort of a
veggie roll only it had shrimp and chicken in it and also with a sauce. I
didn't have the later, but I sure enjoyed the egg rolls. He brought enough
so we had 2 meals out of it. This was all real authentic stuff.
Dong and I worked on hooking up the ice maker in the frig. He also
worked on it while we were at the Cumberland County Craft Fair on Thu. No
matter what he or we did it kept leaking so we concluded the solenoid unit
leaks. Sears will be by on Tuesday to fix that. Fri Dong took all our
construction trash (from his work as well as the stuff from the upstairs
porch and the back steps railing left over from last year) dto the dump.
Aunt Jeanne and Emma were down yesterday and that is the extent of happenings
this week. Almost forgot, Dong got the stained window cover of lexan type
material all installed. That will protect the window and also eliminate the
drafts.
That is about the news of the moment. Love, Dad
