Weather: The highs ran from 82 to 73, mostly in the 70s. Lows from 68 to 57 last night. We did manage a quarter inch of rain last night.
Stephen et al including Casco arrived on Sunday. Monday was a peaceful day. On Tuesday the Hocker clan were off to town. The highlight of the day was when the Sears man came and fixed the ice maker which required a new solenoid which is where Dong and I had figured the leak was. Now works great! On Wednesday the rest of us went to town (market), Pam and Christian to the museum and Mom and I to the farmers market and then grocery shopping, all in a hurry to catch the 1215 boat so Mom could go have her ear checked out.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK: ANDREW VS. BACK BEDROOM DOOR
It seems that in the evening Andrew decided to checkout the door lock to his room, the back bedroom. The lock worked great locking the door, but getting it to unlock was a different story. The interesting thing is the door was locked and he was stuck and you can probably guess who had the only key. He dismantled what he could on his side of the door, but as it turned out the key finally opened the door. There is a lot of friction with this type of door lock so I suspect that was the real problem. We suggested that if he wants to try door locks to do it with the do! or open. We have to try and have one really interesting item each week.
Now we are to Thursday when Mom and I with Sarah and Andrew went to Freeport and then after we got back we all went to the B&B for dinner. It was really a pretty good meal. One never knows from one year to the next how any of these places will be. Friday night we all (less Pam and Christian) went to see the Sea Dogs loose, but we each got a free camera, baseball, key chains and refrigerator magnets. Saturday Mom, Pam, Christian and I went to the sidewalk art show in Portland where the close a big chunk of Congress Street for the show. The rest of them tooled around the island and went to see the reenactors at the 5th Maine.
And that is the way it was on Peaks Island last week. Oh yes, one evening we all walked up the street and had ice cream for the first time this year. Love, Dad
