Here I am with another week already. On Monday Mom and Lauren went to town.
I stayed home and did some bush/tree trimming/clearing. Very quiet day.
Tuesday I took the computer to Pierre's of Exchange Street. Kind of a neat name
and certainly a well used shop. I padded one of the carts and pushed it on up
there, up because it is all uphill. I walked back to our parking lot (this
time all down hill) to take the car and see if by some slim chance I could get
the A/C fixed. Friday was the best I could do, too late. Took the car back
to the lot, walked back to Pierre's, picked up the computer and back to Peaks
on the 1415. Mom and Lauren missed my phone call so I walked home. More
walking today than I have done in weeks. I couldn't get the computer to log on and
even the store tried to talk me through it so the solution is to take it back
tomorrow. Hot day today and a fan night tonight.
Wednesday I caught the 0815 with the computer only this time I drove
it to Pierre's. Back to the parking lot, got a cup of coffee and then met Mom
and Lauren on the 0945. Also met Jeanne and Dick. They all went shopping and
Dick and I went to a tent tool sale at the Mall. The place was packed, lines
long and super hot so we left to find something cool to drink. Met the
shoppers at noon and proceeded to the hair dresser's in South Portland where Mom
and Jeanie got their haircut. Then we were off to Two Lights for lunch on the
shore. That is kind of a fun place to go and lots of people do. This turned
out to be another fan night.
Thursday we all caught the 0715 to take Lauren to Manchester to catch
her flight to Baltimore. The trip over and at the airport went like clockwork
and Southwest couldn't have been nicer. Mom got to go with Lauren while I
stayed outside the "mighty" secure area, drank coffee and read the newspaper.
The trip back was a bit slower because of road construction. Temperatures
ranged for 91 to 88 with a couple very short cool spots of 84. Anyway, it was a
hot drive with no A/C. We were going through Portsmouth, halfway home, and
figured Lauren was already in Baltimore. There is something wrong with that. The
distance from our parking lot to that in Manchester is exactly 100 miles. We
stopped for Chinese and caught the 1515 boat back to Peaks. It turned out to
be another fan night.
We stayed at home on Friday for a change. We had a nice breeze at the
house. I was docent at the 5th and the breeze was from the wrong direction
there so it was hot. We weren't too busy so I did some physical work on a day
when it was really too hot. Mom cleaned house. It looked rather good when I
got home. This was a borderline fan night so we used it. Saturday was a quiet
day. It was the Art Festival day, but we elected not to go this year. This
afternoon was the Fifth Regiment Civil War Day with various goings on. We
went to one presentation. This was a windy, bright, clear, low humidity day at
long last. Mom washed our sheets, hung them out and they were back on the bed
in an hour and a half.
Today (Sunday) was 0815 Mass followed by a delicious breakfast at
home. We were off to town on the 1245 on this beautiful cool day to meet Jeanne
and Dick to go to the theater to see Triple Espresso, a comedy. It was very
good and very funny. Then we had dinner at a rather interesting place called
Bibo's Madd Apple, right next door. It was very good also. Not quite my type of
food, but I did enjoy it. Then we were back on the 1915 and here I am.
For those of you who haven't heard, which may be almost everyone but
Stephen, Aunt Mary and Uncle Walter have moved into a new apartment. The
apartment number is now 122 vice 117 just down the hall on the same side of the
building. I know the numbers don't fit, but that's the way it is. Nothing else
changes but the Apt. #. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath place. Hooray! Hooray!
I guess that is about the best I can do for this week.
Love, Mom and Dad
