Island Update Ending August 3, 2002

Weather: This was a somewhat warm week with a high of 89 on Wednesday and a low high of 68 on Monday. This was a 3 fan day week, that is, we used a fan at night 3 times.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK!!! New refrigerator arrived on Saturday.

This was supposed to be a relaxing week except for getting the house cleaned up. It turns out we were busy with misc. stuff all week, like getting the house in order, which it isn't because I had to take the back hall apart to put the frig in a different space. New refrigerators are much too deep to fit behind the back door like the old one was. The back hall won't be back together when Pam arrives. I worked on getting ready for a new basement door which I will explain when it is finished. The lawn really had to be mowed (2 weeks behind), Mom got after the windows (you know how she is about those front windows) and I finally finished painting the front porch. We had lots of errands to run on Wednesday. We were going to have lunch and come back, but it was too hot so we caught the 1215 ba! ck. Much more comfortable on the Island. Thursday was commissary day so that was a long day. We did get a cement lion which I have had my eye on since we arrived, about 2 feet tall, perhaps a little less. What am I going to do with it? I don't know but I will find it a place of honor.
