Here we are again at the end of another week and a rather cool one it was. On Monday Dad caught the 0615 with Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Dick so I could get our parking permit back. I went and had a cup of coffee and then caught the 0745 back to the island. Pam and Christian went to the Children's Museum courtesy of the Portland Public Library. Mom and I collapsed, although Mom being Mom, she washed and dried the sheets & towels from our company and now the beds are all freshly made. Tuesday we just took the day off - we were all pooped.
On Wednesday we were off to the Farmer's Market on the 0945 boat via the barber shop where Christian got a real boy's haircut at a real men's barber shop. He looks rather sharp. I got my haircut later. We did get a few things at the Market and then went over to the Public Market for a lunch of Fish & Chips. They do the best job of any place we know. Back on the 1415 boat. I carried some stuff up to the 5th Maine for the fair on Saturday and also cleaned up one of the BBQ's for cooking at the Fair. After that big lunch we had popcorn for supper although Pam fed Christian some other stuff in addition to the popcorn.
Thursday Dad caught the 0615 to meet Uncle Dick to transfer their computer and some other stuff. Then I ran errands until I met Mom and Company to go to a noon Sea Dogs game, Christian's first real baseball game. I think he enjoyed it. We got the tickets from the Davis's. It was supposed to be commissary day, but we couldn't pass up the Sea Dogs. Mom and I went to Hannafords after the game so we can at least get through the weekend. Friday it rained all day. Dad had Docent duty at you know where plus getting ready for the Fair on Saturday. Bit on the chilly side to the point that sweat shirts weren't enough so we turned on the furnace also. For you on the East coast sorry about that.
Saturday was the big fair day at the 5th Maine. I and a couple of other guys cooked hamburgers and hot dogs. Mom took care of the misc. gift table. All in all it was a hard working day which ended with the big clean up, putting everything away and getting the BBQ's back to their owners. The day was really quite nice, but around 1300 the sea breeze set in and it was downright cold in the wind. Mom did purchase a new shower from the silent auction table which Paul (plumber Paul) will deliver tomorrow. It will take us the rest of the summer to decide where and how to put it in. There is one thing for sure it will be a big improvement over the old one, not that it hasn't been very faithful.
Today Mom and Dad were off to breakfast at the Lion's club arriving at the appointed opening time of 0800 and yes we were first. We arrive early because they have potatoes then and they don't necessarily last for the whole time they are open. Pam and Christian showed up about 0830, but only Christian had breakfast although Pam finished what Christian didn't eat. Church was at 1000 where we had a change of pace with a christining. Father Fred does a pretty good job at that. There was laundry to do this afternoon and I started putting in a window in the back bedroom. Unfortunately when they jacked up and put new footings under the bay in the kitchen they only got up about an inch with 2 30 ton jacks so the window I thought was fairly close is not, so I worked the better part of the afternoon. I will finish in the morning. Unfortunately I know the other window in that room is really off. Oh well we will manage. For supper we were surprised by Pam going up and getting lobster. What a neat way to end the week.
I promise to get my Lawyer Perry story out this week in 2 parts. I have to go back and check to see when it all happened.
That is about the best I can do for this week.
Love, Mom and Dad
