We have finished a week plus since the last odd date message and we have had overcast, rainy, drizzly and cold weather. By cold we mean 50s and 60s. Today we were going to have Dong bring his sister over to eat, but she has rather severe arthritis so Dong and we decided today might not be too good (consistent with past days) so we canceled out only to have the nicest day since we have been here. Actually this was probably the 3rd nice day. Dad took the car in to get it inspected on Wednesday only to have it not pass because of leaking front struts. They also check the car's computer (I don't know why) and it was as they said "not full" whatever that means. Dad had to drive it around town and fast on the highway for a while so he ran errands. That seemed to make it happy and it all checked out OK. He had to leave it for the struts and a few associated other things, however, they did give him a ride to the ferry. The next day Mom and Dad went in to retrieve it after paying a goodly sum. The AAA place did come and pick us up at the ferry. Anyway, the car is fine for another year. We ran some errands, a cart load, and came home.
We had a delightful 53rd anniversary. We ate at the Cockeyed Gull. This is the 4th time we have eaten there for our anniversary and we always have the same meal. Mom gets shrimp scampi and Dad gets scallop scampi. It is no longer on the menu but the Korean owner said we could order it in advance and they would fix it. It is kind of neat to just go in, order some wine and then just have the meal arrive. She said she didn't start it until we actually got there. They also fixed a delicious desert complete with candle. Yesterday, Dong brought flowers for our anniversary, a very thoughtful guy.
Most everything's else has been pretty routine. Dad did help Dong with some siding which was very long and hard for one person to handle. We also managed to drive around the island a couple times. We used the car so we had a nice warm trip.
We have been very lax in our exercise program so tomorrow we will walk with Denise, remember her? We have been getting a hard time because we haven't shown up for the Monday and Thursday walks. Then tomorrow is senior lunch day at the 5th Maine.
Tuesday, we will leave, hopefully on the 0715 ferry, for Mike's. Mike now has his tractor so we will get to see the monster New Holland which I had never heard of until he ordered his. After hearing about his what should show up but a public works new tractor on the island by the name of New Holland. After leaving Mike's the next night we will visit Aunt Mary and Uncle Walter and then be home on Thursday.
That is about it up in Maine country.
Love, Mom and Dad
